Beep Beep The Road Runner #87 is a Gold Key comic book from January, 1980. It includes four stories.
In "The Clone Arranger," Wile E. Coyote has built a cloning machine to hijack a truckload of road runners (called "beepers" in this book). Of course, his clone is an uppity "genius" just like him, and the two coyotes can't get out of each other's way. The truckload of beepers easily chase Wile E away in the end.
In "Horse Heist," the beepers rescue a stolen race horse (and Wile E. Coyote, too) from two criminals, even as Wile E. is trying to catch them.
"Star Trick" is about Wile E. Coyote wishing on a star. The sassy star whisks Wile E. away to a planet of giant birds where, ironically, the coyote is chased for food.
"The Insomniac" features a stressed-out, sleepless Wile E. Coyote who copies a sleep ray gun that he sees a park ranger using. He is able to knock out a couple beepers before two more outsmart him and use his own gun against him.
Throughout the comic, the beepers speak in rhyme, which is really annoying.
